Homelessness describes the condition of people without a regular dwelling. People who are homeless are most often unable to acquire and maintain regular, safe, secure, and adequate housing, or lack "fixed, regular, and adequate night-time residence."
GOOD DAY! GOOD DEEDS!
FRIENDS GIVING BACK!
GOOD DAY! GOOD DEEDS! was established by a group of friends who wanted to help feed the homeless population of metro Atlanta. The group started with less than ten participants and has now grown to well over over 50 active members who contribute funds to purchase food and other items, and who also donate clothing, coats, blankets, toiletries, and share 'smiles of hope' to those persons less fortunate than others. The Feed the Homeless project takes place near downtown Atlanta on the 3rd or 4th Saturday of each month. Past contributors include Shiloh Middle School and Wayfield Foods.
APRIL UPDATE:
On Saturday, April 26, our park guests enjoyed a cookout to include hamburgers - fresh off the grill, baked beans, coleslaw, potato salad, assorted chips, chocolate chip cookies and bottled water.
A big THANK YOU to our dedicated volunteers who continue to contribute financially on a monthly basis and/or purchase items to make our Day of Service the success that it has become. We could not do this without you!
